The Pine Masters Tournament, week in review
March 11, 2024

Last week the club hosted the Pine Masters Tournament, an annual event that has become a tradition among our members and the local golf community. Over seven days, golfers from near and far came to play our fairways and chase the Pine Masters title.
The opening drive
Club President Alex Montgomery opened the week with a speech on the history of the Pine Masters and its place in promoting sportsmanship. Then came the ceremonial first drive, a high arc against the pines, and the competition was underway.
The heart of the competition
Each day had its own drama. The signature 8th hole, known as "The Whisperer", tested players with its tricky dogleg and well-placed bunkers.
Record-breaking moments
Rising star Elena Rodriguez carded a record 63. On the men's side, veteran Jeff Langston made a stunning eagle on the 14th, a shot that will be talked about for tournaments to come.
The final round
Spectators gathered in record numbers along the greens and fairways. The outcome stayed undecided until the very last putt on the 18th green.
Celebration and camaraderie
As the sun set over the course, trophies were awarded, stories were shared and friendships were made. We look forward to next year, and until then we will keep the fairways groomed.
